Groom’s Sword
Sword symbolizes royalty and bravery. It has a rich history associated with it. It narrates the tales of bravery of kings and princes. It was considered a symbol of their pride and prestige. For a Rajput king his sword was precious and they respected it.
Sword form an important part of the groom’s accessory. Every groom used to carry it on his wedding day as a part of his wedding outfit. Even today grooms in Rajasthan, Udaipur, Punjab and some other parts of the country carry sword on their wedding. It a part of the ritual and is auspicious. Grooms in metros don’t prefer that.
Nowadays, many celebrity grooms who get married in traditional Indian style carry sword for their wedding. This shows their status and gives the groom a royal appearance. The groom arrives at the wedding venue with a sword, riding a beautifully decorated white horse.
