Hiding the Grooms Shoes

It is a prank played on the groom by his sister-in-law during the wedding ceremony. When the groom removes his shoes to sit in the mandap, the bride’s sister hides his shoes. After the marriage, the bride’s sister demands for money to return back the grooms shoes. The groom has to pay the money demanded or he is not returned his shoes back. It is interesting to watch the bargaining that goes on. Nowadays it’s not just a ritual but an open war between the younger members of the bride and the grooms family. The grooms friends, brothers and sisters try to protect the shoes where at the same time the bride’s sisters and friends try all plans and tactics to steal the shoes. It is real fun to watch.

Pillow Talk
This game is carried out at the grooms place after the bride’s arrival. Here the couple sits with their backs facing each other and a pillow held between their shoulders. This game is a way to check how well the bride and the groom know each other when they answer the questions asked by their relatives by nodding their head in yes or no. This also shows their compatibility with each other. Everyone eagerly waits to see what the couple answers and how deeply they know and understand each other.

Fishing the Ring
This is quiet a naughty game where the bride and the groom are asked to take off their rings and put them in a bowl filled with milk. The couple is then asked to look for the rings in the bowl. The  family members bet for who will find the ring first. Whoever finds the rings first, wins and is said to rule his/her partner.

Knotted Strings
Here the couple is given a knotted string. The husband and the wife have to use a single hand each to open the knot. It is said that sooner they open the knot, greater will be the ease with which they will solve their problems.
