Wedding in Churches
Wedding! The word itself increases the excitement. Nothing on earth is so merrily celebrated as the union of two souls coming together to be one. Throughout the world, weddings and the associated ceremonies differ, as every culture have their own traditions and customs.
Church weddings are mostly prominent among the Christians. It is simple yet very beautiful and elegant. It is sober and a visual delight. Not only Christians but people from any religion may choose it as their destination to begin their new life.
In order to get married in a church you first need to inform the priest or the church authority. The Church is decorated with flowers, candles and netted drapes. A beautiful red carpet is laid from the entrance till the altar. Soft music piece is played and the choir sings hymns. The bride dressed in a white flowing gown enters the church accompanied by small flower girls holding flower baskets in their hand. The groom receives the bride at the entrance and greets her with flowers. They then proceed towards the altar.
The marriages in church is done either directly or with the engagement ceremony. The rituals to be followed are similar to those carried out in any normal Christian family. The ceremony begins with the wedding mass and some selected readings from the bible. The engagement ring is blessed by the priest. Vows are exchanged in the presence of two witnesses from each side. The bride and the groom then exchange rings with other and they are declared man and wife. The priest then prays so that the couple is blessed with love, peace and eternal harmony. A thanksgiving is then offered by the family members to the Almighty God.
